The room is one minute away from the huge hotel pool where they have nice DJs playing some relaxed pool songs all day. The beach is just another 30 secs further down. In the evening the place has its own beach party where not only the hotel guests but also a lot of other people from Ko Samui join.
At 2am the party finish but then you can walk 5mins and continue the party in one of the clubs in the center. I have seen a lot of bad reviews regarding unfriendly staff who is blamed to steal belongings from the room. This is absolutely not true. The staff was friendly and I felt my belongings save in the room. They even had a safebox with a keycode better than other hotels actually! One thing that is unfortunately really disgusting about this place is prostitution. This hotel seems to be popular among This hotel seems to be popular among guys that like prostitutes.
First day we arrived at 5pm and the firt thing we saw, was our drunk neighbours 3 guys, 20y old inviting a prostitute for a foursome. Ark Bar Hotel seems to be quiet popular among prostitutes. Me and my friend wanted to meet some normal girls but it was impossible because all of them were prostitutes. Therefore we left the party usually at around 1am and went into the city center 5min walk where the amount of prostitutes was still high but at least we were able to meet some "normal girls".
There are about 3 guards at every entrance of the residence and if you want to have a quiet minute with a girl even for 30mins you have to pay baht. For the hotel this seems to be quite a profitable business one night i was 1 hour near the entrance and I saw around 8 guys paying those baht. The beach club played very good techno music from between Would give Ark Bar 5 stars but are only giving 4 because of the awfull switch in music after Wow what a great night out, a must visit if your in the Chaweng area of Koh Samui..
Fire shows are spectacular!! Well having visited this previously a number of years ago I must say it has improved beyond all recognition, we walked in and found it amazing after so many years Pat the floor manager actually recognised me anyway after a warm welcome she suggested the white snapper which was excellent. If you want to just party in Koh Samui - sit by the beach and enjoy your drink while they serve you some really delicious seas food then look no further.
